A well-defined solar project connects the assessment, design, approvals, installation, and handover into one clear scope.
1. Review the property and energy use
Gather electric bills, future load plans, and information about the roof and electrical equipment. Discuss whether the goal is generation, backup, charging, or a combination.
2. Compare the proposal
Review the layout, expected production, equipment, installation scope, exclusions, and financial assumptions. Confirm any incentives using current rules; there is no universal four- to seven-year payback.
3. Coordinate approvals
Engineering, permitting, utility review, and equipment availability affect the schedule. Confirm responsibilities and dependencies before setting installation expectations.
4. Install and inspect
The work follows the approved project scope, with required inspections and utility authorization before normal grid-connected operation. Do not assume physical installation alone means the system may be turned on.
5. Complete the handover
Review monitoring access, operating instructions, documentation, and the service contact. Backup behavior must be explained separately if the project includes it.
