Residential Electrical & Energy Systems

Solar, battery backup, EV charging, and smart electrical upgrades for your home. Bring everything together with a team that understands the electrical work behind the entire system.

Built by electricians

One team for your home’s electrical and energy needs.

Every home is different. We do not sell cookie-cutter energy systems. For your home, we start with how you use electricity, what you want to keep running during an outage, and what you may add in the future.

Our licensed electricians and solar professionals coordinate planning, engineering partners, permits, installation, inspections, and utility requirements as applicable to your project. Whether you need one upgrade or a complete home energy system, we help the pieces work together.

Our capabilities

Built around your home. Planned for what comes next.

Solar Generation

Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity; inverters make that power usable by your home. Production depends on the site, weather, and time of day. The system can supply household loads, charge a compatible battery, and export eligible surplus under your utility arrangement.

Ordinary grid-connected solar alone generally does not power your home during an outage. Backup requires equipment designed and configured for that purpose.

Battery Storage & Backup

Batteries store electricity for later use—from solar or, where permitted and configured, the grid. They can support planned loads during an outage and help coordinate how your home uses energy.

Power output determines what can run at once; usable energy and household demand help determine runtime. We plan selected-load or broader backup around those limits.

Electrical Service & Panels

The service brings utility power to your property, and panels distribute it to circuits. Their capacity, condition, and configuration set the foundation for solar, batteries, charging, and new appliances.

We assess existing and future loads before recommending a panel replacement, service upgrade, or appropriate load management.

EV Charging

A home charging circuit supplies your vehicle at a rate suited to the charger, vehicle, and electrical system. Daily driving needs and available charging time help determine the right installation.

Charging can be coordinated with household demand and, with compatible equipment and controls, solar availability. Solar charging and vehicle-to-home backup are separate capabilities.

Smart Panels & Controls

Smart panels such as SPAN add visibility and control at the circuit level. Compatible controls can help prioritize backup loads and coordinate energy use as equipment is added.

A smart panel does not generate or store electricity. Its role is to manage connected loads within the capabilities of your electrical and backup systems.

Standby Generators

Generators produce electricity from fuel to supply planned loads during an outage. Transfer equipment and controls manage the change between utility and generator power.

A generator may suit extended-outage priorities where appropriate fuel is available. Integration with batteries and solar requires a coordinated, compatible design.

How the pieces work together

One system. Different jobs throughout the day.

These are examples of a coordinated system, not a promise that every installation operates the same way. Actual power flow depends on your equipment, controls, settings, and utility requirements.

01 · DURING THE DAY

Generate and use

Solar can supply household demand while available surplus charges a battery or is exported under the utility arrangement. Compatible charging controls may help schedule the EV around available capacity or solar production.

02 · IN THE EVENING

Use stored energy

When solar production falls, the home draws from the grid and, where configured, the battery. Settings can retain a backup reserve and determine when stored energy is used.

03 · DURING AN OUTAGE

Support priority loads

A properly configured backup system separates supported loads from the utility grid. Batteries or a generator supply those loads within their limits, while compatible controls manage priorities. Solar recharging during an outage depends on the system design and conditions.

Choose your backup approach

Battery, generator, or both?

Battery Storage

Useful for storing solar energy and supporting planned backup loads. Outage duration depends on available energy, household demand, reserve settings, and recharging. Start with the circuits you need and the duration you are planning for.

Standby Generator

Useful for fuel-based backup when outage duration is a key concern. Assess fuel availability, equipment sizing, transfer equipment, placement, operating sound, and maintenance. It does not store your solar production.

A Coordinated Combination

Some homes benefit from both, but integration is equipment-specific. We confirm compatibility and operating controls before proposing a combined system. Not every battery, generator, and smart panel can be connected in the same way.

You do not need every component at once. We can plan a single upgrade, a phased installation, or a complete system around your priorities.

From planning through installation

A clear path from your goals to your project.

01 · UNDERSTAND YOUR HOME

Define your priorities

We start with your electric use, existing equipment, available space, and backup needs. A recent electric bill and photos of your panel help begin the conversation.

02 · COORDINATE THE DETAILS

Design the system

We coordinate equipment selection, design and engineering requirements, permits, and utility applications as applicable to your agreed scope and budget.

03 · BUILD & SUPPORT

Install and connect

Our team handles installation, inspections, and system setup, then walks you through operation and monitoring. We remain available for service and future upgrades.

Support Beyond Installation

Questions about your system, a change in performance, or plans for another upgrade? Contact BD to discuss your home’s electrical and energy needs and the next steps.

System Questions

Tell us what you are seeing, including any monitoring alerts or changes in operation. Include your project address and equipment details so our team can review your request.

Troubleshooting & Service

Contact us about an issue with your BD installation. We can discuss evaluation and service options, with the scope and any applicable costs confirmed before work proceeds.

Future Upgrades

Planning to add battery storage, EV charging, or smart controls? We can review your existing equipment and electrical capacity to help plan a compatible upgrade.

Planning your home energy project?

Do I need to install solar, batteries, and a smart panel all at once?

No. We can plan a single upgrade or a coordinated system. Discussing future additions early helps us account for electrical capacity, equipment compatibility, and space.

Can you add battery backup to my existing solar system?

Often, yes. We first review your solar equipment, electrical service, and backup priorities. Compatibility, equipment condition, and utility requirements determine the approach.

Will a battery keep my entire home running during an outage?

That depends on the battery system’s power and energy capacity, the loads you need to run, and how long the outage lasts. We plan whole-home or selected-circuit backup around those requirements; no single runtime fits every home.

Do I need a service upgrade for an EV charger?

Not always. We assess your panel, service capacity, existing loads, and charging needs. Appropriate load management may be an option where supported, while some homes need an electrical upgrade.

What should I send to get started?

Share your address, a recent electric bill, photos of your electrical panel and meter, and a short description of your goals. Let us know about existing solar, planned renovations, EVs, and the equipment you want backed up.
