Learn the electrical trade through real project work. BD Electrical & Solar is hiring an Apprentice Electrician to support our licensed electricians on electrical and solar installations. The role combines hands-on work, careful instruction, and exposure to the systems powering today’s homes and businesses.
You will build core skills in electrical construction while learning how solar, EV charging, batteries, and related equipment connect to a property’s electrical system. Duties are assigned according to your experience and performed under the required supervision.
What You Will Do
- Assist licensed electricians with raceways, conductor installation, equipment mounting, labeling, and other assigned work.
- Help organize materials, prepare work areas, and keep tools and equipment ready for the crew.
- Read drawings and installation instructions with your supervisor, and ask questions before proceeding when details are unclear.
- Support solar installation and electrical equipment work within your training and permitted scope.
- Learn testing and troubleshooting methods under direct instruction; do not undertake tasks beyond your authorization.
- Record assigned work, report field conditions, and follow safety and housekeeping requirements.
What You Bring
- Enrollment in, or relevant progress toward, a recognized electrical apprenticeship or related training program; include your current status when applying.
- High school diploma or equivalent and a basic understanding of electrical principles.
- Interest in developing a long-term career as an electrician.
- Dependability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from feedback.
- Ability to use tools safely and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to assigned work locations.
Experience That Helps
- Prior electrical, solar, construction, or vocational-school experience.
- Familiarity with drawings, measurements, common electrical materials, and jobsite safety.
- Relevant classroom training or documented field experience. Include these details with your application.
Work Environment
This is a field role involving active construction sites, indoor and outdoor work, ladders, and elevated work areas as assigned. Follow site-specific training, PPE, fall-protection, and equipment requirements. Essential duties are performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
