Start With the Scope
Describe what you need the finished installation to do. Adding one circuit, increasing service capacity, installing charging, or preparing a property for solar and batteries can involve very different work. Include future plans so the proposed scope can account for them.
What Changes the Price?
- Existing conditions: panel capacity, equipment condition, available circuit space, and the suitability of existing wiring.
- Installation route: distance, concealed spaces, trenching, access equipment, and restoration responsibilities.
- Equipment: ratings, manufacturer requirements, availability, and compatibility with the rest of the system.
- Coordination: design, engineering, permits, utility work, inspections, and planned shutdowns where required.
- Site requirements: occupied spaces, work hours, phasing, and coordination with other trades.
Compare the Inclusions
When comparing proposals, check equipment models, quantities, permit and engineering responsibilities, utility allowances, restoration, exclusions, and payment terms. A lower total may reflect a different scope. Ask how unforeseen conditions and requested changes will be handled before work starts.
What to Send Us
- Property address and a short description of the project.
- Photos of existing equipment and the proposed installation area, taken from a safe location without opening electrical enclosures.
- Plans, equipment specifications, or an electric bill when relevant.
- Your desired schedule and any known access or shutdown constraints.
Can You Provide a Price Without a Site Visit?
Some projects can be discussed initially using photos and plans. Others need a site assessment or additional design information before a dependable scope can be priced. BD will identify what is needed for your project.
