Somerville High School Rooftop Solar
BD was selected by Solect Energy as the electrical contractor for the rooftop photovoltaic installation at the new Somerville High School.
The Challenge
An active multi-trade construction site and a roof with several elevations, mechanical penthouses, and setbacks required detailed electrical routing and schedule coordination.
BD’s Scope of Work
- Commercial PV electrical installation and DC homeruns
- Conduit and raceway systems
- Inverter connections and AC distribution
- Equipment terminations
- Commissioning support and construction-team coordination
The Result
The completed rooftop system adds renewable generation to the public school campus. BD delivered the electrical scope within the wider school construction project, coordinating around the building’s geometry and other trades.
