Electrical upgrades should address a defined business need: reliable operation, added capacity, better lighting, or integration of new energy equipment.
Start with an assessment
Document existing loads, operating schedules, planned equipment, and recurring issues. Symptoms such as flickering lights need diagnosis; they do not automatically establish that the service must be replaced.
Separate capacity from efficiency
A larger service can support additional load when designed appropriately, but increasing its rating does not itself reduce energy use. Lighting, controls, equipment selection, and operating practices affect consumption.
Coordinate solar and charging
Review electrical capacity and utility requirements before selecting solar, batteries, or EV charging. Backup capability needs a separate supported-load and controls design.
Plan cost and disruption
Define shutdowns, access, permitting, utility coordination, and future expansion. Compare the complete scope and verify any program assistance before counting it in the budget.
