Build solar projects you can be proud of. BD Electrical & Solar is hiring a Solar Installer to join our field team. You will help turn project plans into clean, well-built installations for homes and commercial properties, working alongside experienced installers and licensed electricians.
Our work connects solar with the electrical infrastructure that supports it. We are looking for someone who takes safety seriously, cares about details, and works reliably with the crew.
What You Will Do
- Install mounting systems, attachments, racking, and solar modules in accordance with approved plans and manufacturer instructions.
- Stage materials, organize tools, and protect roofs, property, and completed work.
- Assist with layout, equipment placement, and installation quality checks under the direction of the project lead.
- Support licensed electricians within your training and assigned scope; electrical tasks requiring licensure or supervision remain with appropriately qualified personnel.
- Document progress and field conditions with clear notes and photos, and report conflicts before work proceeds.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow site safety procedures throughout installation and cleanup.
What You Bring
- Experience in solar installation or a related construction trade.
- Confidence using hand and power tools safely and following installation instructions.
- Attention to measurements, alignment, weatherproofing details, and finished appearance.
- Dependability, teamwork, and willingness to ask questions when something is unclear.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to assigned work locations.
Experience That Helps
- Rooftop or ground-mount solar installations, roof work, or racking assembly.
- Fall-protection, lift, or solar-specific training; tell us which credentials you hold.
- Ability to read layout drawings and recognize discrepancies between plans and field conditions.
Work Environment
This is a field role involving active construction sites, indoor and outdoor work, ladders, and elevated work areas as assigned. Follow site-specific training, PPE, fall-protection, and equipment requirements. Essential duties are performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
